Fire Rated plasterboard

Many new structures today require mandatory fire rating to comply with local council regulations for safety. The plasterboards used for fire rating walls and ceiling are much heavier and denser than standard plasterboards.

Fire-rated plasterboards are commonly referred to as “fire check” in the industry and these boards have extra fire retardant inputs and glass fibres to offer fire resistance. The fire check plasterboard comes in two thicknesses 13mm and 16mm and can be multi-layered to give several hours protection from fire threat within buildings.

All fire-rated walls and ceilings must be fully sealed and caulked with fire stop caulking systems and on completion must be certified and meet the industry standards of safety. Our plasterers have high skills and experience in building compliant fire-rated systems for all interior building systems.
